UnitedHealthcare Amended Agent/Agency Agreement
To comply with recent changes in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), UnitedHealthcare has added an amendment to their Agent/Agency Agreement.
These new regulations require that UnitedHealthcare modify the Business Associate language in all of their PacifiCare® and UnitedHealthcare agent contracts effective Feb. 17, 2010. The new language primarily outlines your obligation to notify them in the event of certain types of privacy and security breaches for protected health information.
